Main Street Shelbyville runs a 10-block historic district with independent restaurants, antique shops, and Claudia Sanders Dinner House, the restaurant founded by Colonel Sanders' wife and operating in the same building since 1968.
 
Three bourbon distilleries operate within 15 minutes of downtown: Bulleit Distilling Co. on the Stitzel-Weller campus, Jeptha Creed Distillery on KY-55, and the Bourbon 30 craft operation on Main Street. All three offer public tours.
