Lyndon

A small east-end city along the railroad and LaGrange Road.
Lyndon sits about nine miles east of downtown Louisville, an incorporated city in Jefferson County along LaGrange Road. The area built up around the railroad in the late 1800s, leaving a small historic core near Lyndon Lane and a series of mid-century subdivisions surrounding it. The city sits next to St. Matthews and a short drive from Hurstbourne, putting it inside one of the metro's busier east-end shopping corridors.

What it is like to live here

Lyndon reads as a settled east-end city of moderate density. The blocks near the historic core hold older frame houses and brick Cape Cods, while the surrounding subdivisions hold mid-century ranches and two-story Colonials. LaGrange Road runs as the main north-south corridor, with shopping and restaurants along most of its length. The Westport Road corridor, just to the south, holds additional shopping. Lyndon City Park and Robsion Park provide local green space. Downtown Louisville reaches in about fifteen minutes by car via Interstate 64, and the Watterson Expressway and the Gene Snyder Freeway both touch the area.
